Typographic Contemporary Art
The main body of his work is a series of exquisite abstracts painted directly onto canvas. He uses the full area, covering the surface from edge-to-edge with complex typographic iterations and abstractions. Starting with a fixed grid, he explores in detail high-contrast minimalistic abstraction tempered with form and shape.
Often working in black on white, he optically and purposefully uses curve-linear and angular line composition to add tangible depth to a flat surface. Using a base mix of acrylic, Indian ink and carbon black, he has developed his own paint medium, which when applied to a rough, structured material or a smooth, light surface gives the work a surprising amount of depth.
